In education and employment, some people work harder than others. Why do some people work harder? Is it always a good thing to work hard?
My answer:
It is true that some people invest more than average energy and time in study and work, and there are many reasons for this phenomenon. Although hard work is a good personality trait, I think long-term overtime may cause health and psychological problems.
On the one hand, people work hard for different purposes. From the students’ point of view, they want to gain more knowledge and skills, and get a better position in the highly competitive employment environment. For example, computer science students work hard to practice programming skills and challenge algorithm competitions to attract the attention of technology giants such as Google and Amazon. From a worker’s perspective, diligence helps an employee stand out from the crowd, thereby making the person more likely to be promoted and rewarded. In addition, some passionate people are always full of motivation to achieve their goals, ignoring difficulties and the time spent.
On the other hand, hard work perhaps leads to some disadvantageous effects. Firstly, hard work may cause serious health problems and have negative impacts on a person’s career development and life. Secondly, the relationship with the children may worsen due to overtime and lack of interpersonal communication. For example, some children are addicted to online games and have many conflicts with adult family members because their parents can not accompany and understand them. Finally, young people do not even have time to meet a suitable life partner, and they are alone for a long time, which may increase the risk of mental illness.
In conclusion, while people can earn more wealth by working harder, I think balancing work and rest is the best long-term strategy.
